IT Consulting and Co-Managed IT
A second opinion, a project done properly, or an extra pair of certified hands alongside the IT person you already have.
Not every business needs its IT outsourced. Some need one project done right. Some have a capable internal person who’s stretched across too much and has nobody to check their thinking against. And some have been told they need a large change by the vendor who would be selling it to them, and want an opinion from someone with nothing to gain either way.
What’s included
Co-managed IT
We take the parts that are hard to staff for (after-hours monitoring, security, project work, holiday cover) and leave the day-to-day with your team.
Network consulting
Design review, capacity planning, and troubleshooting for problems that have outlasted several attempts. This is the core of our founder's 20+ years of ISP and utility network engineering.
Security consulting
An independent look at where you actually stand, from a team holding CCNA Security and the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker certification.
Wireless consulting
Surveys and design review for sites where coverage has never been right, including second opinions on someone else's design.
Technology planning
What needs replacing and when, what it will cost, and what can safely wait, so hardware spending is planned rather than triggered by a failure.
Vendor-neutral advice
We’ll tell you when the answer is to keep what you have. An assessment that always concludes with a purchase is a sales call.
Who this is for
Businesses with an internal IT person who needs backup, and businesses facing a decision big enough to want an independent opinion first.
Questions we get
Straight answers. If yours isn’t here, ask and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.
How does co-managed IT work with our existing IT person?
We agree explicitly who owns what, in writing, before anything starts. Typically the internal person keeps user support and day-to-day operations while we cover monitoring, security, after-hours, and project work. The arrangement fails when the boundary is vague, so we make it the first conversation instead of an assumption.
Can you review a proposal from another vendor?
Yes, and it’s one of the more useful things we do. A quote for a large replacement is much easier to judge with someone alongside you who understands the equipment and has nothing to gain from the outcome either way.
Do you do one-off projects?
Yes. Project and on-site work is $150/hour, quoted before we start. There’s no requirement to sign up for a managed agreement to get a project done.
